Aspen Technology, Inc.(NASDAQ: AZPN), a leading provider of software and services to the process industries, announced that the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit has affirmed substantially the final judgment and permanent injunction originally issued in favor of Aspen Technology and against M3 Technology, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas on June 6, 2012 in AspenTech’s trade secret misappropriation, copyright infringement and tortious interference action against M3 Technology, Inc.
In the judgment, M3 Technology was ordered to pay Aspen Technology the sum of $11,346,329 in damages. The Court of Appeals ordered that this amount be reduced to $10,800,000.
